Deborah Baisden has been a licensed Realtor® since 1989. She is a consistent, active top producer in the Hampton Roads area with Prudential Towne Realty and has volunteered with her local association since joining.
Deborah has served on many committees and advisory groups and the Board of Directors for the Hampton Roads REALTORS® Association and was the Chairman of the Board in 2004. Her activities include chairing the Awards Committee for 3 consecutive years, Chair of the Realtor Foundation Chairing the Resale Committee, Executive Committee and Trustee of the Hampton Roads REALTORS® Association PAC. Awarded Realtor® Salesperson of the Year in 1999 and the Code of Ethics Award in 2005.
Deborah’s continued involvement locally evolved naturally into the Virginia Association of REALTORS® in 2005 when she was appointed to Public Policy Committee and in subsequent years to Governance Review Workgroup, Strategic Planning Group, Budget Committee, Awards Review Group and served on the Board of Directors from 2008 to 2011.
At the National level, Deborah sits on the NAR Board Jurisdiction Committee since 2010 and recently served on a Presidential Advisory Group on Membership Structure.
An RPAC Sterling R Contributor for many years, Deborah remains passionate about the issues facing our industry and the public we serve.
With a Fine Arts Degree from the University of Waterloo in Canada, she served as the Curator at the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia until moving to Virginia Beach and beginning her real estate career in Hampton Roads. Deborah is a supporter of the Relay for Life, Samaritan House, March of Dimes and the Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughter. She lives in Virginia Beach with her husband, Barry, who teaches visually impaired children with the Virginia Beach school system. She is the proud mother of a son Gregory who is a graduate of VCU Criminal Justice program and works for Sears in Richmond, and a daughter, Alena, who graduated from SUNY at Albany with a Communications Degree and currently works in Alexandria as the Digital Media Director for Smart Media Group.
